APPLY FOR THIS POSITION About the position
Do you want to work closely with the political decision-making process and help translate the Government's ambitions into concrete initiatives? Do you thrive in a daily routine where tasks range from communication and political servicing to strategy, analysis, and cross-cutting coordination? Then you might be our new graduate officer in the Construction Department.
As an AC officer, you will be part of the cross-functional task solution in the Construction Department and will play a central role in supporting the Minister, management, and the department's areas of expertise. You will work with a wide range of tasks within the responsibilities of the Construction Department – from communication and political servicing to analyses, strategies, and cross-functional coordination. No two days are the same, and tasks evolve in line with political priorities.
The position is broad and versatile and involves both independent tasks and close collaboration with colleagues across the department's areas of expertise and, when relevant, with other departments in the ministry. You will have a varied everyday life with both long-term tasks and cases that require quick action and coordination.
Your primary tasks
Your tasks will include, among other things:
-
Preparation of decision proposals, notes, analyses, and responses to the Naalakkersuisut and Inatsisartut.
-
Coordination of hearings and contributions to materials in connection with the sessions of the Inatsisartut.
-
Contribute to the development of strategies, action plans, and other cross-cutting development tasks.
-
Quality assurance and coordination of written material across the Construction Department's areas of expertise.
-
Preparation of press releases, talking points, background material, and other communication materials for the Minister and the department.
-
Coordination of cross-cutting issues and collaboration with other departments, municipalities, companies, and other partners.
-
Ad hoc tasks related to the execution of the Construction Department's responsibilities.
We imagine that you have a relevant academic education. Your educational background is less important than your ability to analyze, communicate, and translate complex issues into clear and targeted material. For example, you may have a degree in political science (cand.scient.pol.), public administration (cand.scient.adm.), or a master's degree in communication, journalism, or social sciences, or have an equivalent academic education. Experience from a politically governed organization or public administration is an advantage, but certainly not a requirement.
We place special emphasis on that you:
-
writes clearly, precisely, and understandably – even about complex topics,
-
has strong analytical skills and can translate professional issues into a basis for decision-making,
-
works in a structured manner and thrives with many parallel tasks,
-
can work independently while also engaging in close collaboration with colleagues and management,
-
is resourceful, flexible, and good at creating an overview,
-
has an interest in the interplay between politics, administration, and communication.
-
An exciting and meaningful position with great societal significance.
-
A versatile job close to the political decision-making process with the opportunity to work across the department's areas of responsibility.
-
Opportunity to influence the development of central political initiatives and strategic efforts.
-
An open and informal work environment with engaged colleagues.
-
Good opportunities for skill development, professional sparring, and independent responsibility.
-
Flexibility and respect for the balance between work life and family life.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The position is desired to be filled from September 1, 2026, or by agreement.

About the Construction Department
The Construction Department is one of four departments in the Ministry of Housing, Infrastructure, Outer Districts, and Emergency Management, and has a broad and socially significant portfolio of tasks. We work with the development, planning, financing, and implementation of initiatives that support the political objectives of the Naalakkersuisut and create value for citizens and society.
The department manages the central building authority and the central client role for the Self-Government's new construction. In addition, we are responsible for the Housing and Property area, the area for Outer Districts, the Self-Government's insurance, as well as the development and coordination of external fund financing.
Our tasks range from legislation, strategic development, and reform work to authority tasks, administration, funding schemes, and the implementation of larger development and construction projects. We are also responsible for the department's economic tasks as well as the administration of capital grants across the Self-Government's areas of responsibility.
Our work is characterized by high professionalism, cross-functional collaboration, and close political contact. We translate political ambitions into concrete solutions through development, legislation, investments, and projects that contribute to a sustainable and well-functioning society.
