The Education Support Administration is an operational unit consisting of a head of office, an academic, a financial consultant, and 2 education consultants, who handle the general administration of education support and related tasks, as well as the support and auditing of educational institutions in their administration of education support and related tasks.

The office manager is responsible for the daily management of 4 employees as well as, periodically, one intern.

In addition, the Office Manager is responsible for ensuring that correct payments are serviced and disbursed monthly to approximately 3,500 education seekers. Furthermore, the Office Manager must ensure the maintenance and development of the payroll system, including entering into agreements with system providers and other relevant parties within the scope of the Education Support Administration's activities.

The office manager represents Greenland in international and Nordic cooperation groups within study support.

Your personal qualifications:

Tasks that range widely from administration and operations to development and political case processing.

We would like that:

  • You have a relevant higher education, preferably in administration or social sciences, and several years of administrative experience.
  • You have solid leadership experience and the ability to create a good and productive work environment while maintaining an overview in a busy and dynamic everyday life.
  • You have a good understanding of the area of responsibility in a Greenlandic context and have experience working with complex, cross-cutting tasks.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can articulate complex topics clearly and precisely to both political decision-makers and professional collaborators.
  • You are familiar with Greenlandic conditions.
  • You have language skills in Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
  • Personnel management including hiring/firing
  • Conducting care and sick leave conversations, including the implementation of performance reviews.
  • Holiday planning and coordination of working hours
  • Development of policies within the area of Educational Support Administration
  • Economic and budget management based on the annual budget framework for the Education Support Administration.
  • Daily operations and securing approvals of accounting documents in IRIS
  • Preparation of accounting instructions and inventory list
  • Preparation of contributions to the Proposal for the Finance Act
  • Preparation of political decision-making bases
  • Manage collaboration agreements with external partners.
  • The preparation of the strategic plan for the operation and development of the Educational Support Administration.
  • MR Support System's operation, maintenance, and development
  • Ensure correct monthly disbursement of student support to approximately 3,500 students.
  • Planning and distribution of the tasks of the Education Support Administration.
  • Planning of the intern's work tasks
  • Contribute to the development of legislation in the area of the Educational Support Administration.
  • Participation in the legislative work within the Education sector
  • Development of processes, including the preparation of process descriptions and guidelines

Salary and employment conditions

The position is currently salary-fixed corresponding to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and personal contributions to the pension in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The working hours are initially 40 hours per week, and there is a standby obligation associated with the position of 320 hours annually, equivalent to 80 hours per quarter.

Housing

No staff housing is allocated for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the allocated staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
