The Management Secretariat is an attractive and professional workplace with a high level of ambition. The daily life in the Management Secretariat is varied and professionally challenging, where things sometimes move quickly, and tasks must be solved under time pressure, based on a solid professional, legal, and economic foundation. It is rare for two days to be alike.
The Management Secretariat handles the political service for the elected representatives in the Municipal Council, the village councils, and the local committees, and is responsible for servicing the municipality's top management. As our AC officer, you will play a central role in the development of new policies, strategies, and projects. Exciting tasks will accompany the wishes of the Municipal Council, including through the annual budget agreements.
The tasks will be determined in closer collaboration with the department manager and will include, among other things:

Development and implementation of policies and strategies

Project management of cross-functional tasks

Preparation of decision proposals, analyses, reports, consultation responses, and correspondence

The employee must be prepared to participate in solving the secretariat's other tasks as needed.
We expect that you:

Has a relevant master's degree.

Has relevant work experience and local knowledge

Has strong collaboration skills, a well-developed ability for innovation, and thrives with significant responsibility in task solving.

Can structure, prioritize, and create an overview in a daily life with many different tasks.

Is welcoming and has a positive attitude.

Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal and Child Certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal record from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
A staff housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary rental accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the above. The start date depends on when a staff accommodation is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses for household goods are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
