About the job
As the professional leader for the tourism sector, you will be responsible for ensuring that the department's work in the area is professionally grounded, coordinated, and ready for decision-making in relation to political processes. The position entails significant responsibility for the professional content, overview, and coherence across the tourism sector, as well as for the overall case processing in the area.

You will play a central role in the work of: developing and following up on national strategies and initiatives in the tourism sector.

contribute to the development and coherence in regulation, administrative frameworks, and framework conditions for the tourism industry

ensure professionally solid decision-making bases through analyses, reports, and notes for political consideration

ensure ongoing dialogue and regulatory coordination at the case level with central stakeholders
The position requires the ability to prioritize complex professional issues and create clear decision-making bases in a politically governed and stakeholder-dense area.

Your most important work tasks Professional responsibility for the tourism area, including the organization of case processing

Preparation of analyses, notes, reports, consultation responses, and decision proposals for political consideration.

Professional coordination and follow-up on strategic initiatives and regulation in the tourism sector.

Handling and coordination of cases with municipalities and other authorities in tourism-related matters.

Contributions to the handling of cases regarding cruise ships, capacity, infrastructure, and considerations for the environment and local communities.

Political service as well as participation in relevant working groups and cross-cutting collaboration forums.

Securing relevant data foundation and ongoing professional follow-up on the developments in the tourism sector.
Your profile

We are looking for you who: haves solid experience in tourism or related fields

has strong analytical skills and can translate complex issues into clear professional presentations

has experience with political servicing and working in complex stakeholder landscapes

can work independently with responsibility for the professional preparation and case management in a larger subject area

has good collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships across organizations
-
has good knowledge of Greenlandic conditions, language, and culture
-
preferably bilingual Greenlandic/Danish in both writing and speech
Employment terms
The position is placed in salary frame 35 according to the agreement on positions in salary frame 35.
Salary and employment conditions are determined according to the applicable agreement and based on qualifications and experience.
The position is desired to be filled on June 1, 2026, or by further agreement for the right candidate.

Salary and employment conditions
The position is currently salary-fixed corresponding to 35. The salary with fixed salary components and personal contribution to pension in LR 35 amounts to DKK 47,586 monthly and DKK 571,032 annually as of April 1, 2026.
Housing
No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned housing is retained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
