About the job
As a special consultant / chief consultant in the Department for Economic Planning, you will handle the ministry's tasks related to the KNI service contracts, including service contracts for supply of goods, fuel supply, banking supply, as well as the service contract concerning the operation of the slaughterhouse in Neqi A/S in Narsaq.
It is a professionally complex area with significant political attention, which requires experience, independence, and the ability to ensure a solid decision-making basis for political decisions. The position involves daily professional management of the area and close dialogue with relevant stakeholders.
You will be part of the Department for Economic Planning and report to the department head/office manager.
Your work tasks

The main tasks are: Preparation of economic analyses, preliminary studies, notes, and decision proposals for political consideration.

Management of the department's tasks regarding the KNI service contracts.

Establishment and operation of a simple and clear reporting and follow-up system

Ongoing dialogue and coordination with KNI regarding the supply of goods task, including follow-up on citizen inquiries.

Economic and operational analysis of the service contract for supply of goods, including adjustment of the service to the developments in the residences.

Follow-up on other service contracts, including fuel and banking supply.

Preparation and follow-up on a recovery plan for the slaughterhouse in Narsaq (Neqi A/S)

Participation in meetings, working groups, and collaboration forums

Tasks related to the restructuring of operational and supply tasks from Mittarfeqarfiit/Greenland Airports, including assessment of future organization and contractual relationships.

Solution of ad hoc tasks within the department's area of responsibility

We expect that you have relevant education in economics, social sciences, or administration, or solid experience with similar tasks.

Has experience with economic analyses, contract management, and preparation of decision proposals.

Can work independently, structured, and goal-oriented.

Has good written and oral communication skills

Has work experience, preferably from a politically governed organization.

Has knowledge of Greenlandic social conditions (an advantage)

About us
The department is part of the central administration, which is under the Naalakkersuisut. The core of our work is political economy. The department currently has 26 employees spread across several divisions including economics, law, and national planning. Attached to the department are the Tax Agency, the Department of Finance and Personnel, as well as Greenland Statistics.
Our main task is to serve and advise the Minister for Finance and Taxes, as well as to coordinate the fiscal policy agenda. We are responsible for the preparation of budget and tax legislation, supervision and analysis tasks, work with economic and physical planning, as well as economic reforms and much more.
Salary and employment conditions
The position is filled under the terms of the collective agreement in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant organization.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
