Atuarfik Kilaaseeraq in Maniitsoq is seeking teachers for all levels. The school has 334 students and 40 educators. The focus is on well-being and improved results through interdisciplinary and project-based teaching. In recent years, the public school in Qeqqata Municipality has undergone rapid development. This development will continue in the coming years, and we are looking for teachers who want to make a difference and contribute to this development.
In the autumn of 2024, Maniitsoq has a new head of education and Atuarfik Kilaaseeraq has a new school inspector. The new management is working purposefully on the well-being of teachers and students, which is seen as the foundation for good teaching.
The goal is for students to achieve better results. This means that it is very important for teachers to prepare as a team and for the teachers as a team to conduct ongoing evaluations. All students meet at 8:00 AM and are finished by 1:20 PM at the latest. This results in better preparation time and more free time for students for extracurricular activities. Teaching is conducted using these methods: interdisciplinary teaching, project-oriented teaching, and differentiated teaching.
The school's focus areas are: to improve foreign languages and mathematics, as well as to develop students' competencies and social skills.
In addition, Qeqqata Municipality has focus areas for primary schools: better results in foreign languages and ensuring that all students improve their reading skills.
Atuarfik Kilaaseeraq's building is being completely renovated until July 2027.
The students have therefore been moved to alternative healthy premises.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement (see www.imak.gl), including the right to free travel and relocation of personal belongings. After 3 employments, one is entitled to return travel and relocation of personal belongings.
Special terms
The position offers special fixed-term conditions. After 12 months, this provides an annual free trip, and after 3 years of employment, a severance savings will be paid out. The fixed term can be extended by 1 year as long as the school meets the requirements.

Housing
A staff housing option will be available for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the properties of the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary accommodation, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above.
Child certificate:
This position is covered by the law requiring the collection of a child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a satisfactory child certificate from the National Police.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record and a child protection certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record from the police.
