Qeqqata Municipality is seeking a vocational teacher for Pilersitsivik’s workshop in Maniitsoq. The workshop is a non-academic program for youth aged 15-29 who need motivation to find employment or start education. The position requires experience with youth and the craft profession.
Qeqqata Municipality is seeking 1 vocational teacher for Pilersitsivik's workshop in Maniitsoq.
Pilersitsivik's workshop is part of Majoriaq Maniitsoq and is a non-academic program that accommodates 10 students aged 15-29 years.
The program at Pilersitsivik is an offer to young people who, for some reason, have not progressed in work or education, to be motivated to find stable employment or to start an educational program.
The staff at the workshop consists of 1 teacher and 1 assistant, who work full-time.
The primary areas of work and responsibility will be:

To plan and organize a school program in collaboration with the management at Majoriaq.

That you have experience in management and a good willingness to collaborate with other businesses in the local community.

That you are interested in supporting young people who have stalled after primary school to enter the workforce or pursue an education.

Ensure that there is good well-being at Pilersitsivik's workshop.

Ensure that the young people comply with the workshop's rules of order.
It is required that qualifications and requirements are:

You have an education in a trade or several years of experience in a similar industry (experience from working in a workshop will be an advantage).

You have experience working with young people aged 15-29.
-
You are fond of young people.
-
You have a good collaboration with parents.

You are stable, responsible, and can work independently.

You are physically and mentally capable.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions in accordance with the agreements in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and AK. No housing is provided for the position.
Criminal record
Employment is subject to a satisfactory child and criminal record check, which will be obtained by Qeqqata Municipality.
Commencement on May 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
