Inulerivik is seeking a psychotherapist to work with children and youth affected by grief and trauma. The position involves specialized therapy and project development in collaboration with the National Grief Center in Denmark. We are looking for an empathetic individual with experience in psychology and trauma treatment, who can build trusting relationships and has knowledge of Greenlandic culture.
Inulerivik is looking for a psychotherapist for children and young people affected by grief and trauma. Are you empathetic and passionate about helping children and young people or adults with complicated grief reactions after a death? This could include adults who have lost someone to suicide, which increases the risk of complicated grief reactions.
Complicated grief reactions occur when a person is unable to adjust to the loss of a loved one and experiences prolonged and intense grief reactions.
It may be due to a sudden or traumatic death, the mental state of the bereaved, as well as the relationship with the deceased. These reactions can be debilitating and affect both mental and physical health. Likewise, complicated grief reactions related to death increase the suicide risk for the bereaved. If you are passionate about addressing this issue, you may be the treatment person we are looking for.
About the position:
We offer a unique opportunity to become part of a dedicated team, where you will work with adults experiencing complicated grief reactions after a death and become a key person regarding complicated grief reactions in Inulerivik.
You will have the opportunity to use your therapeutic skills to support and guide our clients through their healing processes. The tasks consist of specialized grief and trauma therapy for adults and their families after a death.
The position is part of a development project in close collaboration with the National Center for Grief in Denmark, which will support the project with grief expertise, method development, evaluation, and will handle the ongoing training and supervision of the key person regarding grief and complicated grief reactions.

Your work tasks are: Individual and group therapy with adults

Method development and adjustment of treatment plans based on the individual client's needs and experiences.

Participation in training, supervision, presentations, and ongoing professional development to ensure the highest treatment standard.

Has experience with grief - crisis - trauma work

The ability to create trusting relationships with children and young people or adults who have experienced serious trauma.

Has the desire and ability for interdisciplinary collaboration

An empathetic mind and willingness to listen and support in difficult situations

Knowledge of methods and interventions that can help children and young people process trauma.

Has knowledge of Greenland and Greenlandic culture. Speaks Greenlandic and Danish.

The position must be anchored in Inulerivik; as an employee in Inulerivik, you will fall under the Adult area and therefore report to the chief psychologist in the associated initiatives and the Center Manager in Inulerivik.
Employment:
The position is salaried under the PPK agreement, the employment is in an administrative position within this agreement and thus requires a specific demand for health professional education in chapter 12 Category VIII-miittoq § 56. In Stk. 3.
The practical
The position is a project employment, full-time (40 hours weekly). A significant amount of travel activity can be expected in connection with the position.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
