The Social Authority is seeking a competent and professionally skilled person for the position of director at the residential facility Ivaaraq, starting on March 1, 2026, or by agreement.
The Children's Center Ivaaraq is a nationwide 24-hour service for citizens with multiple disabilities, designed for 15 residents divided into 2 departments.
The round-the-clock service is located in Qaqortoq – a very beautiful town surrounded by lovely nature. The staff group has experience in the field. Ivaaraq is a lively, different, and exciting workplace, with a focus on development.
A little about Ivaaraq
Ivaaraq consists of two departments: Department Yellow is designated for 5 residents who need significant support for all daily activities. In the Blue department, there are provisions for 10 residents who are more self-sufficient. Additionally, there is Orpigaq, which is an employment offer for the residents. There are a total of 39 staff members in Ivaaraq.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the applicable agreement/collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization at the time of commencement.
Housing
An unfurnished staff apartment can be assigned to the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have a staff apartment or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned apartment. The staff apartment is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
