Greenland's Fisheries and Hunting Control is seeking consultants. Greenland's Fisheries and Hunting Control (GFJK) is responsible for the control and monitoring of fishing, hunting, and trapping in Greenland. Our main task is to ensure compliance with Greenland's Self-Government fishing legislation, including rules established in bilateral fishing agreements and international conventions and organizations.

The position includes the following main tasks: Contact with buyers and shipping companies

Loading and registering of transactions

Data collection and entry of logbooks from the coastal fishery

Quality control and data validation

Reporting of catch notifications in electronic system (ERS)

Weekly reports and quota monitoring (quota intake/quota exchange)

Port State Control (PSC)

Ad hoc tasks and contributions to other tasks in the organization

Qualifications Relevant vocational education or documented work experience.

Ability to maintain an overview and work systematically, even in pressured and busy situations.

Good oral and written skills in Greenlandic and Danish, as well as the ability to express oneself clearly and precisely.

Good English skills are an advantage.

About GFJK
GFJK consists of a headquarters in Nuuk and 3 regional offices in Sisimiut, Ilulissat, and Nuuk.
There are 17 employees at the headquarters, organized into the departments: Finance and Administration, IT and International Cooperation, HR, and a Control Department with a control team consisting of fishery observers, as well as 3 regional offices with fishery and hunting inspectors and game wardens.
Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
