About Sisimiut:
Sisimiut is beautifully situated between mountains and sea – about 320 km north of Nuuk – and is Greenland's second-largest city with around 5,500 inhabitants.
The city is known for its active leisure culture, beautiful nature, and friendly communities. Here you can ski in the winter, sail or hike in the mountains in the summer – or participate in the city's many cultural activities.
There are good facilities such as sports halls, swimming pools, fitness centers, music schools, youth clubs, art and culture houses, as well as plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities year-round.
Sisimiut also has an airport, shops, cafes, and good transport options to the rest of Greenland.
Employment:
1. March 2026 or by agreement.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to free travel and relocation of personal belongings, are in accordance with the agreements and collective agreements in force at any given time between the Government of Greenland and the teachers' organization IMAK. Employment is primarily based on collective agreement terms.
For applicants who are already employed as Greenlandic civil servants, the employment as a teacher can take place as a civil servant. The employment as a civil servant will be in accordance with the Inatsisartut Act No. 21 of December 18, 2003, on the civil servants of the Government of Greenland and the municipalities in Greenland.
