The Social Authority is seeking an office manager for the Paarisa unit, which will be part of the work in the Department for Children, Youth, Families, and Domestic Affairs' existing department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring. Paarisa works on initiatives and projects across social and health professional areas.

Office manager for Paarisa wanted The Danish Agency for Social Services is seeking an office manager for the Paarisa unit, which will be part of the work in the Department for Children, Youth, Families, and Domestic Affairs' existing department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring (ATM).

Paarisa works with initiatives and projects across social and health professional areas. We develop initiatives in partnerships across sectors and with respect for local needs.

As the office manager, you will play a central role in leading and developing Paarisa. It is important that you find the area of work exciting – but even more important is that you can be a leader who creates good relationships with the employees and ensures ongoing well-being together with them. As the office manager for Paarisa, you will report directly to the department head for cross-cutting projects and monitoring.

About the position

  • The tasks include, among other things: Leading the unit Paarisa, which consists of 16 employees working on various initiatives within the social and health professional field.
  • To manage personnel matters and ensure a visible, trustworthy, and development-oriented leadership.
  • To engage in close collaboration with the department head for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring.
  • To coordinate and follow up on initiatives, projects, and political priorities within the unit's areas.
  • To ensure that Paarisa's work supports the department's overall goals and contributes to solid decision-making foundations.
  • Special tasks Secretary at meetings led by the department head.
  • Response to inquiries and preparation of notes in agreement with the department head.
  • Responsibility for case processing of ongoing tasks and coordination of projects.
  • Ad hoc tasks carried out independently or in collaboration with the department's other divisions.

About you

  • We are looking for a person who: Has a relevant academic degree at the master's level
  • Can maintain an overview in a often busy everyday life.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge about health promotion and prevention is desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Experience with management is desirable but not a requirement.
  • Can work independently, in a structured manner, and development-oriented.
  • Can communicate in writing and orally – in Greenlandic and Danish
  • Can create an overview of many and complex information.
  • Is good at collaborating with colleagues and external partners and stakeholders.

About Paarisa and the Department

Paarisa works with health promotion initiatives and prevention across social and health professional areas. Our approach is based on dialogue with the local community and the development of initiatives in partnerships that create meaningful and sustainable solutions.

After a possible merger with the Social Authority, Paarisa will be organizationally placed together with the Department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring (ATM), which falls under the Ministry of Children, Youth, Families, and Interior Affairs. The future organization of the ministry and the authority is still under development.

Employment conditions

The position is currently classified as corresponding to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and own contribution to pension in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.

Initially, employment will be based on collective agreement terms, but if the applicant is already a civil servant under the civil service laws for the public Greenland, employment may occur under civil servant terms.

For the position, it applies that no maximum length of service has been established and that the provisions regarding compensation for overtime and the provisions regarding compensation for lost days off do not apply; the working hours are initially 40 hours per week.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
