Interpreter/Translator

The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking 1 interpreter/translator for the interpretation office in Nuuk.

The Interpretation Office falls under the Management Secretariat. The Interpretation Office is a service organization for the entire municipal administration and its underlying institutions and is responsible for all translation and interpretation tasks.

The interpreter/translator position includes:

Written and oral translation tasks, as well as dialogue and simultaneous interpreting in connection with municipal council meetings, committee meetings, and other meetings organized by Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq both internally and externally.

We expect that you:

·Is trained as an interpreter/translator

·Can interpret simultaneously

·Has good skills in Greenlandic, Danish, and preferably foreign languages.

Is flexible and has a stable attendance

Ability to provide a high level of service

·Prioritizes and delivers quality in the tasks.

·Has good collaboration skills and a friendly demeanor

Can maintain an overview in stressful situations

·Can work independently

·Flair for IT

Criminal record:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We therefore wish to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
