The Department of Payroll Services in the Agency for Economy and Personnel is seeking a skilled and dedicated administrative officer. As an administrative officer, you will be involved in processing and directing salaries for employees in the Government of Greenland and its underlying units, as well as the entire healthcare system.
As an employee in Payroll Services, you will primarily work with monthly salaries for the healthcare sector, but there will also be a need to solve tasks across the hourly wage and monthly salary areas. We can offer a well-functioning department that prioritizes collaboration, support, and shared learning highly.
There are a total of 10 employees in the payroll department, where you will report to the office manager for Payroll Services.
Job description
In the role of office assistant, you will become part of a competent team that all highly prioritize collaboration, sparring, and shared learning. The tasks vary widely, with some being complex and others more routine-based; it varies from task to task, so it is important that you thrive in a changing task environment and actively want to contribute to developing existing processes and workflows.
Quality, integrity, and good service are key words in Payroll Service, just as communication and collaboration across functions are necessary for success in the role.
Your primary tasks will be:
●Processing of payroll, including gross salary lists
● Handling of inquiries by phone and email
● Maintenance of employee master data
● Planning and execution of payroll runs – including ensuring timely and accurate salary payments
● Participation in ongoing reporting with payroll data – including deviations
● Various administrative ad hoc tasks
Your background
The position is versatile and places high demands on your interpersonal skills, your understanding of accounting, and your experience with payroll administration. As a person, you thrive in a quality-conscious environment, and you have the ability to work in a structured manner with attention to detail in an improvement and solution-oriented culture.

You have experience from a similar position.
● You have knowledge of various agreements and personal tax regulations and thrive on tasks that span different professional groups.
● You are familiar with Excel
● You master Greenlandic and Danish in writing and speech.
You are structured, thorough, and quality-conscious, and you take responsibility for delivering good service.
● You work independently with the whole team's interests in mind.
● You are AU or office trained.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor can occur in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
