Teacher

At Avannaata Municipality, Atuarfik Edvard Kruse, Uummannaq, a number of teaching positions are available for appointment from August 1, 2026, or by agreement.

We are looking for 2-3 teachers for the school's Middle Stage. We are particularly seeking teachers who can teach Greenlandic, Mathematics, Danish, English, Physical Education, Social Studies, History, Religion, Natural Sciences, Personal Development, and Local Elections.

And one that can take on different roles alongside.

Employment will take place according to the agreement between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK. Applicants coming from a civil service position in Greenland will retain the right to this form of employment.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, are in accordance with the agreements in force at the time of commencement between the Greenlandic Government and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK.

Employment may also take place under special fixed-term conditions according to an agreement between the Greenland Self-Government and IMAK, whereby a severance payment of 18,000 DKK is provided as an annual base amount from April 1, 1991, 19,818.29 DKK from April 1, 2012, and an annual vacation travel allowance for the employee and their family.

Housing can be made available.

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a child certificate and a public criminal record.
