School Principal

The position of school inspector at Atuarfik Edvard Kruse is vacant for appointment from August 1, 2026, or by further agreement.

Atuarfik Edvard Kruse is a school that focuses on learning and well-being, the development of the core mission, including work on inclusion, to create the best school for the students. The school also places a high value on collaboration with parents to achieve the overall goals. There are approximately 204 students and 35 staff members at the school.

As the school principal at Atuarfik Edvard Kruse, you will also have overall responsibility for the 5 associated village schools Niaqornat, Qaarsut, Ikerasak, Saattut & Ukkusissat, as well as the student residence where the oldest students from the villages are placed.

It is expected that you as an applicant:

• Is a trained teacher
• Has experience with school management
• Is development- and results-oriented, resourceful, and energetic.

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the agreement of August 27, 2014, between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK, for teachers in the public school system in Greenland, etc., and the Main Agreement of October 28, 1998, between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK.

You will be employed under special fixed-term conditions according to the agreement of February 16, 2007, regarding employment under special fixed-term conditions. Additionally, a non-pensionable severance amount of DKK 18,000.00 will be provided as an annual base amount per April 1, 1991, for every 12 months of employment.

A staff housing option will be available for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payments in the properties of the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality in Greenland. If a permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to a vacant housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above.

Other employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, are in accordance with the agreements in effect at the time of commencement between the Greenlandic Government and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK.

Applicants coming from a civil servant position in Greenland will retain the right to this form of employment.

Child certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the procurement of a child certificate.

We would like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a satisfactory child certificate from the National Police.

Criminal record: This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal record from the Police.
