Isfjord Office is seeking an engaged communication officer for a full-time position. You will work on promoting the UNESCO World Heritage Ilulissat Icefjord, developing websites and social media, and creating educational materials. The position requires experience in communication and outreach, as well as proficiency in Greenlandic, Danish, and English.
The position is available for occupancy on August 1 or by further agreement.
Isfjord Office is seeking a dedicated and independent communications employee for a full-time position.
The position offers the opportunity to work with the communication of the UNESCO World Heritage Ilulissat Icefjord and to contribute to creating an understanding of the area's unique natural and cultural values among citizens, schools, and visitors.
Your primary tasks:

Manage the communication of the Isfjord Office and serve as the office's outward face.

Maintain and develop the Isfjord Office's website and social media.

Establish contact with researchers and gather results from ongoing research projects for the purpose of communicating to the public.

Prepare news, informational material, and other communication content.

Manage the Isfjord Office's school service in close collaboration with schools and educational institutions in Ilulissat.

Prepare teaching and informational materials for the school service.
-
Visit schools and inform about UNESCO World Heritage, the work of the Isfjord Office, and the importance of protecting the area.

Contribute to strengthening children and young people's knowledge of and ownership of the World Heritage area.

Hold lectures and information meetings for tourists about Ilulissat Icefjord, UNESCO work, as well as the current state of the glacier and the fjord.

Maintain ongoing contact with tourism operators, guides, and other partners within the tourism industry.

Contribute to strengthening awareness of UNESCO World Heritage among guides, tour operators, and other communicators in the area.

Prepare informational materials and hold informational meetings for guides and tourism operators about the World Heritage area, applicable regulations, and current conditions at Isfjorden.

Contribute to ensuring a uniform and accurate communication of the World Heritage to the area's visitors.

Has experience with communication, dissemination, or teaching.

Is good at writing and communicating complex topics to different target audiences.

Has an interest in nature, cultural heritage, and UNESCO World Heritage.

Is independent, structured, and proactive.

Thrives with both office work and communication in direct contact with people.

Is flexible and prepared to tackle tasks outside the core area of Isfjordskontoret, including communication and dissemination tasks for other departments in Avannaata Kommunia.

Proficient in Greenlandic, Danish, and English in writing and speaking.
Salary and employment conditions:
The position is a full-time position at the Isfjord Office in Ilulissat.
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
No housing is provided in connection with the position.

The Isfjord Office is part of Avannaata Municipality and serves as the World Heritage Office for Ilulissat Icefjord. The office works with management, monitoring, research, information, and communication of the UNESCO World Heritage. The Isfjord Office is not part of the Icefjord Centre.
