Full-Time Remote Teacher

About the position

As a remote teacher, you will be part of the municipality's efforts to ensure qualified education for students across the municipality's schools through digital learning environments. You will teach students from different locations and work closely with both local teachers and the municipality's other professional resources.

The municipality will prioritize the following subjects in the coming years:

• Mathematics
• English
• Danish
• Greenlandic

We are looking for a teacher who

• Is a trained teacher and can teach one or more subjects.
• Can be hired under applicable terms in Greenland.
• Has experience with digital teaching materials
• Has an interest in distance learning
• Can create engaging teaching from a distance
• Is independent, structured, and proactive
• Has good collaboration and communication skills

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The position is limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension. No housing is provided. If you already have a staff housing in Avannaata Municipality, you may keep it.

Salary and employment conditions

The employment is in accordance with an agreement between the Government of Greenland and IMAK. Applicants coming from a civil servant position in Greenland will retain the right to this form of employment. The point concerns applicable agreements between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK.

Child certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a child certificate and a public criminal record.
