Therapist for Children and Youth

Inulerivik is seeking therapists for children and youth who have experienced trauma, at the new National Center for Therapy and Counseling. The position involves individual sessions and group treatments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with parents and schools. We are looking for a bilingual candidate with experience in psychology and trauma treatment.

Inulerivik is looking for therapists for children and young people who have experienced trauma, at the new National Center for Therapy and Counseling. Are you knowledgeable, empathetic, and passionate about helping children and young people who have been subjected to violence, sexual abuse, or who have experienced other traumatic events such as the loss of loved ones or suicidal thoughts? Then you might be the therapist we are looking for.

  • Your tasks include: Conducting individual conversations and group therapies that focus on trauma-related topics.
  • Development and adaptation of treatment plans based on each client's needs and experiences.
  • Collaboration with parents, schools, and other relevant stakeholders to create a holistic support for children and young people.
  • Participation in supervision, presentations, and ongoing professional development to ensure the highest treatment standards.
  • We are looking for you who are: Bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish
  • Relevant education and experience in psychology, psychotherapy, trauma treatment, or similar with a focus on trauma and crisis intervention.
  • The ability to create trusting relationships with children and young people who have experienced severe trauma.
  • An empathetic mind and a willingness to listen and support in difficult situations.
  • Knowledge of methods and interventions that can help children and young people process trauma.

The position should be anchored in the center itself, with employees from the former Citizen Rights Department in the Social Agency. As an employee in the treatment center, you will fall under the Child Area and therefore report to the chief psychologist in the Child Area and the current center manager. Inulerivik provides various treatments throughout the country.

The practical

The position is full-time (40 hours weekly) and is located in Nuuk. Some travel activity can be expected in connection with the position.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving, as well as relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
