We are looking for a Technical Manager for Atuarfik Inussuk, who will ensure operation, safety, and well-being in a modern school building. The position involves responsibility for the building's operation, technical installations, and fire safety, as well as collaboration with the school's management and external suppliers.

Do you want to help ensure operation, safety, and well-being in one of Greenland's most modern school buildings?
We are looking for a committed and technically strong Technical Manager for our new school. You will be a key person responsible for the daily operation of the building, the technical installations, and the school's fire safety. The position is particularly important as you will also be appointed as the building's operational responsible according to applicable requirements for fire technical installations and operation of complex buildings.
About the position:
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the school's buildings, technical systems, and safety systems function optimally. You will be a link between the school's management, employees, authorities, service providers, and craftsmen. The position reports to the Head of Administration.
You must help create safe and well-functioning environments for students, employees, and visitors.
Your primary areas of responsibility:
Operation and maintenance:
∙Ensure daily operation and maintenance of the school's buildings and technical installations
∙Plan and coordinate service inspections and maintenance tasks
∙Supervise external craftsmen and service providers
∙Ensure documentation and registration of operational and maintenance tasks
∙Handle error reports and initiate necessary repairs
Fire safety and preparedness:
As the building's operational responsible, you must among other things:
∙Ensure that the school's fire technical installations, passive fire protection, and ABA systems are maintained according to applicable DKV plan
∙Keep logs and documentation for control, inspection, and maintenance
∙Ensure that escape routes are always clear and usable
∙Check fire doors, emergency and panic lighting, fire extinguishing equipment, and other safety installations
∙Follow procedures in case of faults, breakdowns, or disconnection of fire safety systems
∙Ensure that fire and evacuation instructions as well as other mandatory signage are correctly posted and updated
∙Maintain contact with authorities regarding ABA systems and other fire matters
Instruction and training
∙Ensure that employees, cleaning staff, cafeteria staff, and other regular users receive necessary instruction in fire safety and evacuation
∙Introduce new employees to the building's safety conditions
∙Instruct external craftsmen and suppliers in relevant fire safety matters
∙Assist in planning and conducting evacuation drills
Management and coordination
∙Develop duty and substitute arrangements so that there is always a responsible person available
∙Ensure that competent persons can be called upon in case of operational disturbances and alarms
∙Contribute to the development of the school's operation and maintenance strategy
∙Engage in close collaboration with the school's management regarding the building's operation and development
We expect that you:
∙Have a construction technical, craft, or technical education
∙Have experience with operation and maintenance of larger buildings and technical installations
∙Have knowledge of or experience with ABA systems, fire technical installations, CTS systems, ventilation, and technical supply systems
∙Can work structured with documentation and authority requirements
∙Have good collaboration skills and can communicate with both employees, suppliers, and authorities
∙Are responsible, service-minded, and solution-oriented
It will be an advantage if you:
∙Have completed or are willing to complete a course in DBI Guidelines 005 – Automatic fire protection systems, operation, and maintenance
∙Have experience from school construction, public buildings, or similar complex properties
∙Have experience with digital operation and maintenance systems

Criminal and Child Certificate:
The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.
