The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a department head for the Department of Leisure and Culture in Ittoqqortoormiit. You will have personnel responsibility for the leisure and cultural area in Ittoqqortoormiit and be responsible for planning, coordination, budget responsibility, management of employees, political decisions, mental health projects, support for associations, leisure education for young people and adults, as well as ad hoc tasks.

The Municipality of Sermersooq is looking for a department head for the Department of Leisure and Culture in the Municipality of Sermersooq Ittoqqortoormiit, starting November 1 or by further agreement.

Content of the position:

As the department head for Leisure and Culture in Ittoqqortoormiit, you must ensure progress in the department's tasks through motivating leadership. You will have personnel responsibility for the leisure and cultural area in Ittoqqortoormiit.

You will be responsible for the following tasks and functions:

·Responsible for planning and coordination of daily work

·Responsible for daily operations, budget responsibility

·Responsible for management of employees

·Ensure progress of political decisions such as monthly events

·Ensure progress of mental health projects

·Ensure support for associations and administration of grants

·Ensure versatile leisure education for young people and adults

·Ad hoc tasks

As the Department Head for Leisure and Culture, you will report to the City Manager in Ittoqqortoormiit. You will be responsible for Minihall leaders, Umimmak Club leader, Ittoqqortoormiit Museum, the football field, and the ski lift in Ittoqqortoormiit.

Your profile:

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.

Housing: No staff housing can be provided for the position.
