We are looking for a department head for Planning & Project Management who can unite Plan & Build under one effective leadership. A leader who can translate strategic needs into concrete plans, mature ideas into strong projects, and ensure that complex digital ambitions are realized with direction, structure, and energy.

About the job

As a department head, you will be a central driving force in Tusass’ digital development. You will be responsible for bringing together planning, prioritization, and project management into one strong Plan & Build function – and for ensuring that the right initiatives are qualified, decided, and safely led from need to effect.

You will be at the intersection of strategy, IT, networks, business, customers, and critical infrastructure. Here, you must create coherence between what needs to be planned, built, and delivered – with an eye for both long-term capacity, technological choices, governance, and professional execution.

Your primary tasks

You will not just receive a task list. You will have the opportunity to shape a new unified function where planning and project management work more closely together – so Tusass becomes even stronger at making the right choices, prioritizing sharply, and delivering securely.

• Set direction for the overall Plan & Build function with responsibility for both planning, prioritization, and project management.

• Create a stronger connection between needs, capacity planning, technological choices, business cases, and project execution.

• Develop long-term plans for digital initiatives, infrastructure, investments, and project portfolio.

• Ensure professional project and portfolio management from the early planning phases to final delivery, benefit realization, and learning.

• Lead, motivate, and develop a strong team of planning and project competencies with a focus on professionalism, accountability, and well-being.

• Create collaboration and shared ownership across the organization.

• Support data-driven decisions through KPIs, reporting, and better management information.

• Contribute to strong governance, documentation, compliance, and change management.

Your qualifications

You are a leader who creates trust, direction, and followership. You do not need to have all the answers yourself – but you must be able to gather the right people, create clear decisions, and make things happen.

You thrive when technology, business, and human needs meet. You can maintain an overview in complexity, but you also have the courage to simplify, prioritize, and speak up about what is needed to move forward.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience in leading planning, project, or development functions – preferably in a complex technical organization.

• Experience in creating coherence between strategic planning, project maturation, portfolio management, and execution.

• Knowledge of methods such as PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent.

• Ability to translate strategy into concrete plans, decision proposals, and actions.

• Good communication skills in Danish and English.

• A curious and innovative approach to technology, people, and change.
