About Qeerpi:

Qeerpi is to be a place where East Greenlandic crafts and cultural heritage are preserved, developed, and communicated.

Qeerpi draws inspiration from Kittat's strong craft foundation but has Amaarngili as its central craft area.

The goal is to develop Qeerpi from a traditional sewing room into a culturally communicating institution, where crafts become the basis for activities, teaching, storytelling, and meetings between people.

As a team leader, you will play a central role in this development.

Your Role:

You will help build Qeerpi from the ground up and create a good and well-functioning everyday life for the team.

Your tasks will include:

·Coordinating and distributing the daily work

·Actively participating in sewing and craft work with Amaarngili and other crafts

·Ensuring quality and good workflows

·Supporting and guiding colleagues in their professional work

·Sewing

·Helping to build the sewing room and develop Qeerpi's work routines

·Collaborating with management on the development of Qeerpi

·Contributing to workshops, teaching, events, and other communication activities

·Helping to communicate knowledge about Amaarngili, East Greenlandic crafts, and culture

·Assisting in ensuring the transition from sewing room to culturally communicating institution

You should be able to think both practically and developmentally – and have a desire to help create something new.

We are looking for you who

·Has experience with sewing and crafts

·Has knowledge of or experience with Amaarngili

·Has good knowledge of sewing machines and relevant craft techniques

·Wants to take responsibility and be a team leader

·Is independent, stable, and good at creating structure

·Is good at collaborating and motivating others

·Is passionate about East Greenlandic culture, history, and traditions

·Wants to share your knowledge and craft with others

·Is curious and wants to develop new ideas and activities

Experience with teaching, workshops, or cultural communication is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal Record:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal record check. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/contract in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

Housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to temporary housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the above. The start date depends on when staff housing is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses will be provided according to applicable rules.
