Education Manager for Construction and Civil Engineering Programs in Sisimiut

Kalaallit Nunaanni Teknikkimik Ilinniarfik (KTI) is therefore looking for a visionary and action-oriented head of education who can lead and further develop our entire educational area within Construction and Civil Engineering in Sisimiut.
You will have a unique opportunity to set the direction for the education of carpentry, plumbing, painting, short courses, and Arctic contracting.

Your task

As head of education, you will be a central part of KTI's top management with direct reference to the principal.

You will have overall responsibility for strategy, development, finance, quality, and personnel within the educational area and must ensure that KTI remains a leading technical vocational education institution.

You will lead approximately 20-22 teachers and staff and manage daily operations through two educational inspectors.

You will be responsible for:

• developing and implementing the strategic direction for the educational area

• developing new educational and course offerings in close collaboration with the business community

• ensuring high professional, pedagogical, and didactic quality

• creating attractive learning environments with a focus on quality, well-being, and completion

• ensuring that the education matches the needs of businesses – both now and in the future

• leading, developing, and motivating employees through clear and trust-based leadership

• being responsible for budget, finance, and resource planning

• strengthening collaboration with businesses, industry organizations, authorities, and international partners.

Has a relevant higher education and experience in leadership, development, and change processes.

Insight into the construction, civil engineering, contracting, or vocational education sector and understands the interplay between education, technology, and the labor market.

Clear, involving, and development-oriented. You create followership, work strategically, and are able to translate visions into concrete results.

It will be an advantage if you have experience with:

• vocational education

About KTI

Teknikkimik Ilinniarfik (KTI) is Greenland's largest technical educational institution with activities in Sisimiut and Nuuk.

We educate the future skilled workers in areas such as Construction & Civil Engineering and Iron & Metal, as well as a wide range of course and continuing education activities and upper secondary education.

KTI collaborates with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) on engineering education and TEKNIKA in Copenhagen on the marine engineering program. KTI has approximately 150 employees and also operates 389 student residences in Sisimiut.

Salary and employment conditions

The position is currently salary-fixed corresponding to 36. The salary with fixed salary components and own contribution to pension in LR 36 amounts to DKK 57,531 monthly and DKK 690,372 annually as of April 1, 2026.

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement applicable at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The working hours are initially 40 hours weekly, and there is a commitment of 320 hours annually, corresponding to 80 hours per quarter.

Housing                                                                     
An unfurnished staff housing can be assigned to the position according to the applicable rules at any time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have staff housing or another housing owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.

Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the housing, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the assignment of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing or hotel apartments, for which taxation will apply. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
