Water truck driver

The water truck driver is responsible for tasks according to instructions from the chairman of water production, as well as in agreement with other departments.

The water truck driver is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the truck, ensuring in consultation with the water chairman that regulatory requirements are met.

Area of Responsibility

• Water delivery
• Truck garage
• Water truck
• Take on call duty outside normal working hours rotating with one week of duty at a time
• The water watch must assist the fire department in case of fire at all times of the day when the fire department requests it
• One must work on holidays except December 25 and January 1. (On holidays, one goes home when finished delivering water)

Job Tasks

• Ongoing control of the functionality of the tanker, report faults to the water chairman immediately upon observing faults or deficiencies
• Cleaning of the tank on the water truck weekly in the summer and monthly in the winter
• Cleaning of the water truck driver's cabin and refueling every Friday so the truck is ready for Monday morning
• Refilling water on the tanker
• Delivering water to the consumer tank
• Driving the water truck around to consumers in a safe manner, driving according to the conditions
• Report customer installations with faults that make water delivery impossible according to Nukissiorfiit’s delivery terms
• An information note must be delivered to the customer with the reason for the lack of water delivery
• A board in the office is used to keep track of customers who have not received water
• The water chairman must also be informed about the fault report

Salary and Employment Terms

Salary and employment are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be with a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position. If you already have been assigned staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained.
