Miner, Nalunaq Gold Mine
We are looking for skilled and motivated miners for underground operations – preferably Greenlanders, for our team at the Nalunaq mine. The job involves performing various tasks related to underground mining, including drilling, blasting, scaling, loading and removal of material, as well as operating various equipment (jumbos, loaders, dump trucks, service vehicles, etc.) – all while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate has previous experience in underground mining.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform tasks related to underground mining such as drilling, blasting, scaling, bolting, and loading/removal of material.
- Operate and maintain equipment for underground mining, including loaders, transport vehicles, jumbo drills, and bolting machines.
- Follow shift schedules and instructions to ensure safe and efficient extraction of ore.
- Support the securing of rock walls and ceilings (ground control) by installing support systems such as mesh, bolts, and shotcrete.
- Assist in development and preparation work in mining areas, including excavation and backfilling.
- Safety and compliance with regulations
- Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and always use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct equipment checks before use and immediately report any defects or safety concerns.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills.
- Ensure compliance with Greenlandic regulations and company policies.
Maintenance and order:
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of mining equipment and tools.
- Keep work areas clean and tidy to prevent hazards and ensure operational efficiency.
- Immediately report and document any maintenance issues or unsafe conditions.
Team collaboration:
- Work effectively with other miners, foremen, and technical staff to achieve production goals.
- Communicate effectively during shift changes to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide support to other team members as needed to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
