We are looking for Greenlandic Process Operator Apprentices for the Nalunaq Gold Mine.

The position as a process operator trainee is developed with the aim of training the next generation of qualified Greenlandic process operators. You will receive structured, practical training in all central areas of the Nalunaq processing plant, and gradually develop your skills through step-by-step learning as your knowledge, abilities, and confidence grow.

This entry-level position provides access to a long-term career in a modern and safety-focused gold processing company with opportunities to advance to roles such as process operator, specialist, team leader, or technical staff.

Your development will follow a structured and competency-based training program:

1. Introduction to the process plant and basic safety

  • Introduction to the work environment in the process plant
  • Understanding the safety culture in the workplace, identification of risks, and emergency procedures
  • Introduction to permits, isolation procedures, and safe work methods
  • Basic understanding of the gold production process and the flow of the process plant

2. Familiarity with the process plant and order in the workplace

  • Learn the purpose and function of the main process equipment
  • Participate in cleaning and maintaining safe and tidy work areas
  • Perform routine inspections and report abnormal conditions
  • Build knowledge of the plant's operational procedures and standards

3. Sampling and process monitoring

Once you have gained a good understanding of the plant's operations, you will:

  • Assist with routine sampling in the process
  • Learn to perform density measurements and other basic process measurements
  • Record observations from the plant and operational data
  • Gain understanding of process indicators and reporting requirements

4. Support for the operation of the process plant

You will gain practical experience in supporting the operation of:

  • Crushing and milling circuits
  • Gravitational systems for gold recovery
  • Flotation processes
  • Systems for handling and filtering concentrate
  • Preparation and handling of process chemicals (reagents)
  • Supply and support functions in the process plant

5. Operation of equipment and process control

As you build experience and document your skills, you will:

  • Assist in the startup and shutdown of process equipment
  • Learn to perform routine inspections and basic troubleshooting
  • Support the operation of the plant under guidance
  • Gain understanding of production goals and operational parameters

6. Further development to process operator

Once you have documented the necessary skills, you will:

  • Operate selected process equipment under guidance
  • Monitor the plant's performance and respond to operational conditions
  • Contribute to initiatives for continuous improvement
  • Develop towards a role as a process operator with greater responsibility for daily operations

Qualifications

  • Completed 12th grade or equivalent education
  • Ability to speak and understand English at a functional level
  • Medically fit to work in an industrial process plant
  • Willing and able to work on Sundays and perform overtime
  • Reliable, disciplined, and focused on working under safety guidelines
  • Willing to work shifts with both day and night duties
  • Willing and able to live in a remote camp for 4-week rotation periods, as well as comply with all camp rules
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural work environment alongside colleagues from diverse backgrounds
  • Previous experience in the mining industry is an advantage, but not a requirement. The right attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong focus on safety are the most important.

The position is a full-time position with a rotation schedule of 4 weeks of work and 4 weeks off.
