Waterworks chairman for settlements in Upernavik

Upernavik means "The Spring Place" in Greenlandic. Upernavik is one of the northernmost located towns and is situated in the middle of a labyrinth of small islands, for traditional settlements, enormous icebergs, millions of birds, and the elusive narwhal.

Establish a life in Upernavik where, depending on the season, you will always have the opportunity to experience life and magnificent nature, either with a boat trip, kayak expedition, dog sledding, or snowmobile excursion.

Become part of a team in Upernavik with 20 employees, where you will be met by skilled, dedicated, and welcoming colleagues. Additionally, you can daily seek guidance as a member of a professional group consisting of the power plant staff from the district's other towns, Uummannaq & Qaanaaq.

You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the villages' waterworks and buildings.

You will have a high degree of influence and the opportunity to affect and plan the daily work, and not least, you will be part of a good community where we focus on performing good technical craftsmanship.

Your immediate supervisor will be the Operations Manager team leader for Upernavik.

You must help ensure that rules, guidelines, and laws are followed regarding the handling of the technical aspects and, not least, regarding maintenance work.

It is possible that you will have on-call duties and there may be travel.

Responsibilities can be adjusted if you have special qualifications for this, and there will be opportunities for personal development if you show potential and have the courage for more.

• Daily manager for skilled and unskilled employees as well as apprentices associated with water production and distribution
• Can be flexible and assist with other tasks also in the villages
• Be responsible, self-motivated, and prioritize professional collaboration over personal relationships and create good development
• Be a good role model who leads by example, and have a positive approach to work; you should create stability around you
• Be adaptable
• Be involved in planning together with your Team Leader

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment are in accordance with the relevant and applicable collective agreement. There is a 3-month probation period.

For this position, housing may be provided according to the applicable rules.
