AKO/FRO Neriusaaq/Inneruulat is looking for a Deputy Manager

AKO/FRO Neriusaaq is a childcare service for children in grades 1 - 3 after school hours - In Neriusaaq, it is designated for 100 children aged 6 – 9 years.

FRO Inneruulat is designated for 70 children in grades 4 – 7 after school hours.

The staffing norm in Neriusaaq is 13 staff members and in Inneruulat 7 staff members, including: Leader, Deputy Manager, 1 department leader, educators, child and social assistants, and helpers.

AKO Neriusaaq is open from 07:00 to 17:00 and is located next to the school "Atuarfik Nuussuup Atuarfia" in Nuussuaq, FRO Inneruulat is under Nuussuaq School.

FRO Inneruulat is open from 08:00 to 17:00 but during holidays in the Easter holiday, Christmas holiday, and summer holidays opens at 07:00 – 17:00.

AKO Neriusaaq staff are required to participate during the school's teaching, such participation occurs a maximum of 2 times a week and about 4 hours, according to the children's needs. The purpose is to improve the child's well-being during teaching and that is the task of the AKO staff.

The Deputy Manager must collaborate with the leader to create the institution's personnel policy with the involvement of staff.

For the position, it is required that you are a proud educator – open and active in pedagogical discussions and that you have a natural desire to work with children. You have a professional approach to your work, are accommodating and adaptable, and you are aware that you have a significant influence on the staff group and your behavior is exemplary.

As a Deputy Manager, you will daily be an educator in one of the rooms and at the same time, together with the leader, be responsible for development in all rooms and therefore have advisory and guidance tasks for the rest of the staff group in school care. In the absence of the leader, you will act as the leader.

∙ Be an educated educator or equivalent

∙ Have good collaboration skills and be professionally competent

∙ Have experience and knowledge in leadership or as a deputy manager

∙ Have the ability to guide and advise staff in the pedagogical work with children

∙ Be responsive to children, staff, and parents

∙ Be flexible and stable

∙ Being bilingual in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police as well as the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Greenlandic Self-Government, according to the agreement/contract applicable at the time of commencement between the Greenlandic Self-Government and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be with a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

For the position, staff housing can be provided, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. are paid according to the rules for rent payment in the Greenlandic Self-Government and the municipality's properties, etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, temporary staff housing will be offered to employees entitled to vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the above. The start date depends on when a staff housing is available. A relocation travel and moving expenses will be provided according to applicable rules.
