We are looking for an engaged deputy manager for our integrated daycare institution Naja/Aleqa. The position requires experience with children, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with parents and colleagues. You will be involved in developing the institution and ensuring a good environment for the children.

Deputy Chef for Integrated Daycare Institution Naja/Aleqa

The deputy chef we need is engaged with the children, can show closeness and trust, is engaged with parents and can have good dialogue with them, has the will to work with the child at the center. You should be the one who is indispensable among colleagues with a broad perspective, is attentive to the children's reactions and is action-oriented, a good supplement for the leaders, is alert and has the will to be involved in the development and who should help influence the daycare institution. You should be the one who can have a close collaboration with the leader and can take responsibility for the entire house when needed. You should have the will to develop the children with the child at the center together with other educators and colleagues.


Integrated Naja/Aleqa is located in the southern part of the city.


The Education Area has the goal of creating curious, robust, healthy, and happy children. There is an expectation that you, with a social worker education, will focus on achieving the goals.


The position is a full-time position with 40 hours a week. There is space for 44 children, divided into 20 kindergarten children and 24 nursery children.


The opening hours for the kindergarten are Monday – Friday from 6:45 AM – 5:00 PM.


The distribution of work and responsibility of the staff group is a total of 11 positions.


Work and Responsibilities:

You will be co-responsible for compliance with the Inatsisartut Act No. 62 of November 20, 2023, on pedagogical developmental offers for children of preschool age, in addition to the Qeqqata Municipal Council's child and youth policy, which can be found on the Qeqqata Municipality's website, as well as the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Naalakkersuisut and NPK.


Commencement on September 1, 2026, or by agreement.


There will be the possibility of assigning staff housing for the position, for which a deposit and rent, consumption etc. is paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in Greenland's Self-Government and the municipality's properties etc. in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees with the right to temporary housing will be offered a temporary vacant housing, for which rent, consumption etc. is paid in accordance with the above.


This position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received a satisfactory criminal and child certificate. We must therefore point out that the commencement date can only be agreed upon when the municipality has received a child certificate from the National Police, as well as a criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.
