About Greenland Police and the control center

Greenland Police has approximately 430 employees, of which about 190 are police officers. The police district is divided into six police districts with a total of 19 police stations, the largest of which is located in Nuuk.
The nationwide control center is located in Nuuk and serves as the operational hub of the police district. Here, all 19 police stations are supported through the management of daily operations, Search and Rescue (SAR), as well as reported and unreported incidents.

The control center currently consists of one leader, eight shift leaders, nine shift leader assistants, and eight service assistants.

About you

We envision that you have an office-related background, but it is not a requirement.
We emphasize that you have relevant work experience and the skills necessary to solve the department's tasks. In addition, you are proficient in both Greenlandic and Danish. It is an advantage if you also speak English, but it is not a requirement.

About the position
As a service assistant, your primary tasks will be:

• to provide professional, service-minded, and welcoming citizen service

• to receive telephone and written inquiries

• to create less complex reports in the police's IT system

• to update daily reports and incidents electronically

• to collaborate with other police districts under the National Police as well as other sections and departments in Greenland Police

• to communicate and interpret in Greenlandic and Danish, possibly English

Salary and employment conditions

You will be employed at the nationwide control center in Nuuk.

Compensation will be based on education level and qualifications, and in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the relevant organization.

The working hours are 40 hours weekly. Since the Control Center is open 24/7, you will have to participate in a 3-shift rotation every day of the week, which means you will have to work both within normal working hours 0800-1600, but often also outside normal working hours.

The position is a permanent position with a 3-month probation period.

A furnished staff housing can be assigned to the position, for which you will pay a deposit, rent, and ongoing expenses. The size of the housing depends on the number of people in your household. Since there may be a waiting period for staff housing, a furnished temporary housing will be made available in the meantime. There may be accommodation in a hotel for a short period if there is also a waiting period for a temporary housing. No temporary housing will be provided if you are already residing in Nuuk.

Free moving of personal belongings and travel expenses for you and your household will be provided in accordance with the applicable rules at any given time.

It is a prerequisite that you can be security cleared at the necessary level for the position. You may be required to perform functions where a higher security clearance is necessary. Employment in the police and the prosecution authority is conditional on your ability to maintain the required security clearance at all times.

Greenland Police has implemented smoke and nicotine-free working hours.
