Leisure and Culture in Tasiilaq is looking for a dedicated employee to strengthen leisure and community life. The position involves collaboration with associations, advising, and planning activities. There is a focus on volunteering and development in Tasiilaq and the settlements.

Do you want to help strengthen the recreational and association life in Tasiilaq and the villages?

Recreation and Culture in Tasiilaq is looking for an engaged and independent employee who is passionate about collaboration, volunteering, and the development of the recreational and sports area.

The position plays a central role in creating better contact and cooperation between the municipality and the associations in Tasiilaq, Kulusuk, Kuummiut, Isertoq, Tiniteqilaaq, and Sermiligaaq.


We are looking for a person who is proactive, visible, and good at building relationships, and who is eager to actively support the work and development of the associations.

The position is flexible and varied and is not a traditional 8–16 job. Working hours will at times be adjusted to activities, events, and collaboration with associations and volunteers.


Job Responsibilities

The position includes, among other things:

∙Creating and maintaining contact between the municipality and the associations

∙Proactive work and ongoing dialogue with associations in Tasiilaq and the villages

∙Visits to the villages as a natural part of the work

∙Advising and sparring with associations

∙Training in requirements and frameworks for running an association

∙Assistance with applications, budget estimates, and grants

∙Administration of grant schemes according to applicable rules

∙Follow-up on accounts, documentation, and association information

∙Coordination of recreational education and contact with staff

∙Planning and implementation of course and seminar activities

∙Development of volunteering and recreational life in Tasiilaq and the villages

∙Administrative tasks, including accounting and payroll reporting

∙Facebook posts and communication about events and activities

∙Sparring with colleagues in Recreation and Culture

∙Various ad hoc tasks


Additionally, the employee will be involved in planning and implementing various events and projects, including for example:

∙National Day

∙Make May Healthy

∙Tas Factor

∙Sports Award Ceremony and Holy 3 Kings Event

∙The Year That Was / Ukioq Naagujooq


We expect you to:

∙Speak Greenlandic

∙Be able to work independently and take responsibility

∙Be flexible and thrive in a varied workday

∙Be good at collaborating and building relationships

∙Have an interest in association life, volunteering, and local development

∙Have administrative skills and can work in a structured manner

∙Be able to guide and support associations in administrative and organizational tasks

Danish and/or English is an advantage, but not a requirement

Criminal and Child Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin when the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the National Police and the criminal certificate from the Police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal certificate is obtained by the individual from the Police.


Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, according to the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.


The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.


Housing:

Housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the rules for rent payment in the Government of Greenland and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to vacation housing will be offered temporary vacation housing, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the above. The start date depends on when a staff housing becomes available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses will be provided in accordance with applicable rules.
