MISI-Avannaa is responsible for the educational psychological counseling in Avannaata Municipality, the world's northernmost municipality. We are based in Ilulissat by Disko Bay and the world-famous ice fjord.

MISI Avannaa handles tasks within both the school and daycare sectors throughout the Avannaata municipality, which is spread across 4 towns and 21 villages.

Ilulissat offers magnificent nature with abundant opportunities for hiking, sailing, dog sledding, skiing, hunting, fishing, etc., and is also a modern city with various cultural and leisure activities.

In addition, the job includes business trips by ship, plane, and helicopter to towns and settlements in the municipality.

We are looking for a psychologist – preferably licensed – with several years of experience working with children with special needs. The right applicant finds it exciting to work in a system that is based on Greenlandic language and culture, and:

• has knowledge of recent research and pedagogical-psychological theories
• has several years of experience working with children with special needs
• is dynamic and development-oriented
• has knowledge of pedagogical psychological work with children and young people
• is robust and can work independently and flexibly in relation to diverse tasks

Employment is in accordance with the agreement of June 28, 2019, between the Government of Greenland and the Union of Teachers in Greenland, IMAK, for teachers in the public school system in Greenland, among others.

For applicants who are already civil servants, this form of employment can be continued.

A staff apartment is provided, for which rent, deposit, etc. is paid according to the applicable regulations at any given time.

The position is desired to be filled on August 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
