Full-time position as a caseworker - social worker within the authority area, working with children and youth. Tasks include case management of child cases, coordination work, conducting interviews with citizens, drafting support letters, and conducting social professional assessments.

Immediate employment or by agreement

The position is a full-time caseworker - social worker within the authority area working with children and youth.

Working hours are Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).

The tasks will primarily consist of:

· Case management of child cases, including recording all relevant information

· Gathering relevant information for relevant instances depending on the purpose and need

· Preparation, revision of action plans, and assessment of whether ongoing measures are still appropriate for the family

· Referral and visitation to relevant instances depending on the purpose and need

· Conducting interviews with citizens, including children and youth, as well as partners

· Coordination work related to visitations, contact agreements, network meetings, family councils, placements, changes in placement, return home, etc.

· Assessment of whether a placement should be initiated. If initiated, a plan for gentle placement must be made in close cooperation with the parents and the placement site.

· Processing various types of applications, including additional expenses, projects, visit trips, boarding school stays, folk high school stays, change of placement, return home, aftercare, etc.

· Conducting annual supervision of placed children and youth

· Drafting support letters for potential psychiatry, Welfare Administration, or other instances.

· Conducting social professional assessments

· Complying with and applying current regulations as well as internal competence plans and guidelines

· Participating in sparring meetings to ensure a consistent professional approach in daily work

· Contributing to respectful and constructive cooperation in the team, department, and administration as well as with external partners

· Participating in social duty outside normal working hours

· Ad hoc tasks by agreement with the department head or team leader

Candidate:

We expect you to be a trained social worker or within the social field and have broad knowledge of case management of child cases, including recording relevant information after interviews, holding meetings, and receiving various forms of writing.

We expect you to be accustomed to conducting various types of interviews, be trustworthy, not hesitant, and preferably have knowledge of different interview techniques with citizens, children, and partners. It is important that you have ambitions and are passionate about the field. We also expect you to work independently and be part of a team where cooperation is key. You must be adaptable, available, and mentally robust, as the days can be somewhat unpredictable. You will be part of the development of the administration, where we expect you to be solution-oriented and able to provide constructive criticism.

As the work consists of approximately 80% administration, you must have good knowledge of using IT systems and be good at formulating yourself in writing.

Travel activities can be expected in connection with supervision or placements, so we also expect you to be prepared for this.

Administration for Children and Family:

The Administration for Children and Family handles the authority area and consists of several teams that manage all casework for children, youth, and families. The tasks are handled by all caseworkers across different teams and include, among other things, conducting social professional assessments, preparing action plans, working on prevention, working with placed children and youth in foster families or residential institutions, as well as youth in aftercare.

The notification and emergency duty receive all notifications for the entire Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq and process them. In addition, they have individual case files where measures have been initiated.

Criminal and Child Record:

The position is covered by the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal and child record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child records. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child record from the national police and the criminal record from the police.

The child record is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the current agreement between the Greenland Self-Government, in accordance with the agreement/contract in force at the time of employment between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant negotiating organization.

Employment will be subject to a 3-month probationary period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
