The Greenland School of Minerals in Sisimiut is seeking a subject teacher for instruction in construction or mining operations. You will work with the education of young people and adults and contribute to their professional and personal development. The position requires an engineer with experience in the construction industry or mining and knowledge of relevant IT tools and geotechnics.

The Resource School in Sisimiut is seeking a subject teacher for instruction in construction or mining operations.

Commencement: February 1, 2026.

As a teacher at the School of Minerals

As an instructor at the Raw Materials School, you work with the education of young people and adults and contribute to their professional and personal development.

You will collaborate with both management and teaching colleagues and participate in the professional development of the school. You have an interest in contributing to the development of Råstofskolen in areas such as GPS and surveying, drone mapping, vibration measurements, etc. You will become part of the school's professional team.

At times, you will need to assemble and develop teaching materials yourself, which makes the position suitable for an independent and pedagogically strong teacher.

  • We expect that you are an engineer with both theoretical and practical experience from either the construction industry or the mining industry.
  • has experience from projects involving larger construction and drilling machines
  • has several years of relevant work experience
  • can communicate orally and in writing in at least two of the following languages: Greenlandic, Danish, and/or English
  • In addition, you have a solid professional knowledge of relevant IT tools.
  • Geology, geotechnics, and foundation engineering
  • Securing work and rock mechanics
  • Road construction and site development
  • Supervision and quality control
  • Classical leveling and surveying as well as digital surveying instruments
  • Planning and report writing
  • Design of construction tasks

About the School of Raw Materials – Greenland School of Minerals & Petroleum

The Raw Materials School is part of the educational institution Teknikkimik Ilinniarfik (KTI), which offers vocational training in Nuuk and Sisimiut in the fields of iron and metal, construction and civil engineering, raw materials, language courses, as well as upper secondary education such as GUX, e-GUX, and the North Atlantic high school class.

KTI is also involved in a collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Arctic) regarding the operation of DTU's engineering programs in Sisimiut.

The Raw Material School offers a range of certified courses and aims to provide vocational education and training at an international level. The school has a large practice area where practical exercises and project work are carried out on a full scale with the school's own machines and equipment.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

Housing

No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned housing is retained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
