We are looking for a specialist doctor with general medical experience for a temporary position of at least 3 months starting from July 1, 2026. The hospital in Tasiilaq has 19 beds and offers a wide range of health services. We provide a thorough introduction and good collaboration with experienced colleagues. Opportunity for village visits and an active leisure life in Greenland's magnificent nature.

We are looking for a specialist doctor with general medical experience for a temporary position of at least 3 months or by agreement starting from July 1, 2026.

Not only specialists or doctors with another specialty who have good knowledge and experience in general medicine are very welcome to apply. Flexible arrangements are possible.

The hospital in Tasiilaq is a well-functioning hospital that has 19 beds for patients of all categories.

We have both a maternity ward and a medical consultation. There are midwife consultations and health care services available.

There is always anesthesia staff in the house, and we have a laboratory with a bioanalyst.

We have X-ray facilities and the possibility to perform ultrasound examinations, an eye clinic with telemedicine, and a dental clinic in the building.

The hospital is the birthplace and has surgical readiness as such. But you as an applicant will not be alone in the operating room or alone on duty with surgical problems unless you can and want to.

There will always be a surgically experienced doctor present.

About Tasiilaq:

  • Tasiilaq is located on Greenland's east coast just south of the Arctic Circle at the same latitude as Iceland.
  • About 2,600 people live in the district, of which 1,900 live in the town and 800 live in the five associated villages.
  • Here you meet the original East Greenlandic culture, where hunting and fishing are still part of the culture.
  • The area is characterized by the sea, mountains, and nature that is very magnificent and beautiful.
  • There are plenty of opportunities to live an active leisure life. In the summer, hiking, mountain climbing, whale watching, hunting, fishing, and sailing are obvious activities. Winter offers the northern lights, skiing, and you can go dog sledding.
