Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is seeking a skilled department manager for a newly established support department. The department will serve as first and second-line support and handle inquiries from the municipality's employees. The Municipality of Sermersooq is seeking a skilled and dedicated department head for a newly established support department.
The support department is a newly established branch of the IT department and will be a central function of great importance for both employees, managers, and citizen-facing areas in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq. The department will function as first- and second-line support and handle inquiries from the municipality's employees regarding, among other things, IT, systems, equipment, and digital work tools.
As department manager, you will have overall responsibility for the operation, development, and management of the support department. You will also be a cultural bearer and have the opportunity to shape the department to best address the support tasks.
The position is a full-time role with direct reporting to the IT manager.
The content of the position:
As the head of the Support Department, it is your responsibility to build, structure, and ensure that the department fulfills its support tasks, so that everyone in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq can serve our citizens. Your areas of responsibility will include, among other things:
·Personnel management of support staff (recruitment, well-being, competency development, and performance).
Establish structure, processes, and workflows in a new department.
Ensure stable operations and high quality in support deliveries.
Develop service concepts, SLAs, and measurement points for quality and response times.
Create a strong service culture with a focus on user experience.
·Prioritize and coordinate tasks and resources
·Collaboration closely with the municipality's professional areas, management, and external suppliers
Identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous optimization.

Experience from a politically governed organization or the public sector is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be with a 3-month probation period.
Housing:
A staff housing can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the Greenland Self-Government and the municipality's properties in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to temporary housing will be offered a temporary rental unit, for which rent, utilities, etc. will be paid in accordance with the above. The start date depends on when a staff accommodation is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving expenses for household goods are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
