Qasigiannguit - The Elderly Home "qeersaat illuat" is looking for a kitchen manager to start on June 1, 2026, or by agreement. The position is 40 hours per week with weekend shifts every 3rd weekend. The kitchen manager is responsible for staff management, meal planning, purchasing, and ensuring good service and quality for 20 residents.
The Municipality of Qeqertalik Qasigiannguit Qeersaat Illuat is seeking a kitchen manager to start on June 1, 2026, or by further agreement.
The position is 40 hours per week. There are 20 residents in the nursing home, and weekend shifts are to be expected every 3rd weekend. There are about 30 staff members at Qeersaat Illuat, which is divided among nursing staff, 2 cleaning staff, laundry worker, caretaker, activity worker, office assistant, and management.
Work and areas of responsibility:

The kitchen manager is responsible for personnel management for kitchen staff, cleaning/laundry staff.

Service schedule and holding staff meetings for the service area

Meal plan with resident involvement

Supervision of depots

Purchasing/ordering of catering and cleaning supplies for residents

To ensure good service and quality for meals for 20 residents as well as food delivery to the town.

To ensure a healthy and varied diet for the residents as well as to develop it.

Maintenance of kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, and laundry, ensuring that they are up to date.
Qualifications:

That you are either a trained kitchen manager, nutrition assistant, or kitchen assistant.

That you are professionally well-founded and critical in your choice of actions.

That you have the desire and interest to work in the field of elderly care.

That you have well-developed interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

That you will participate in teaching, be a practical supervisor for students and trainees.

That you will contribute to creating a positive, creative, inspiring, and developmental environment.

Is stable, quality-conscious, and has an eye for detail.

Can handle many balls in the air without losing perspective.

Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions will be in accordance with the applicable collective agreement with the currently authorized negotiating trade union.
Housing:
Accommodation can be provided for the position, for which a deposit and rent, utilities, etc. will be paid according to the applicable rules for rent payment in the properties of the Government of Greenland and the municipality in Greenland. If permanent housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement, employees entitled to a vacant residence will be offered a temporary vacant residence, for which A-tax will be paid for benefits in kind according to applicable legislation.
OR The start date is dependent on when a staff housing is available. A relocation travel allowance and moving of personal belongings will be provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
A staff apartment must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. Therefore, we must point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the Police.
