Social Worker or Similar Qualified

The Municipality of Qeqertalik, Aasiaat, is seeking 1 social worker or similarly qualified for employment starting July 1, 2026, or by further agreement, Meeqqerivik Ukaleq.

General for the kindergarten / nursery:

The position is a full-time position, 40 hours a week. The kindergarten / nursery has 2 age groups allocated to 24 places for children aged 0 to 3 years, and 20 places for children aged 3 to 6 years.

After the children, the staff moves from room to room, e.g., from nursery to kindergarten or from kindergarten to nursery.

The administration for the kindergartens is under INUIT.

Applicant's qualifications:

·Trained social worker or equivalent trained.

Experience with personnel management and administration in a daycare institution.

Be responsible, have an overview, and the ability to empathize and adapt.

·Able to handle stressful situations, be flexible, cooperative, approachable, and stable.

·Good physical and mental health.

Be prepared to work based on the goals and action plans of the daycare institution.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory public criminal record and child certificate, which will be obtained by the employer from the National Police with the consent of the applicant being recommended for employment.

Criminal record and child certificate:

This position is subject to the law on the obligation to obtain criminal and child certificates. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child certificates. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the child certificate from the national police, as well as the criminal certificate from the police.

The child certificate is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
