About Qasapermiut
Qasapermiut is located in Sisimiut, Greenland. Qasapermiut under the Department of Social Affairs, Family and Justice for neglected children and young people between 13 and 17 years and aftercare 18 – 23 years. The placed children have had a childhood marked by neglect and come from all over Greenland.
Our closest partners are Isikkivik and Pilutaq.
The pedagogy at Qasapermiut is based on a cognitive, resource-oriented, and appreciative approach in a structured environment, including hunting life. We emphasize that they have a stable everyday life with schooling, leisure interests, and a social life outside the institution.
On weekends and holidays, we try to offer the children great experiences in nature in the form of cabin trips, hunting and skiing trips, as well as participating in various events in the city.

We expect:
● You are stable/robust and committed to your work.

● You have experience working with foster children.
● You have a pedagogical education or experience working with placed children and young people.
● You can be involved in planning and creating meaningful activities for the children and young people.
● You are willing to go on colony and project trips to the settlements for up to 9 days at a time.
● You can work varying hours, e.g. mornings, evenings, and night shifts.
● You participate in the development of educational development plans in collaboration with your immediate supervisor and the other staff.
● You are involved in the preparation of educational treatment plans, status reports, and status writings regarding children and young people.

Criminal record/Child certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record/child certificate. According to the law, employment can only begin once Qasapermiut has obtained a criminal record/child certificate.
The criminal record/child certificate will be included in the assessment of who should be hired for the position.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor can occur in accordance with the applicable agreement.
Housing
An unfurnished staff housing can be assigned to the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have staff housing or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned housing. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets, such as dogs or cats, in staff or temporary housing.
