Educator for the Nuka Daycare Center

Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq is seeking a skilled and dedicated educator for the Nuka Daycare Center with a start date to be agreed upon. The Nuka Daycare Center accommodates 40 children, with 20 children in each room, for ages 3-6 years. Opening hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Staff per room includes a trained educator or equivalent, a social assistant, and an aide, along with a kitchen assistant, cleaning assistant, and manager. The role involves taking full responsibility in the absence of the manager, deputy manager, or educator, being a role model for colleagues, closely collaborating with users, and working according to Inatsisartut Act No. 62 of November 20, 2023. Tasks are developed with other staff and parents. The municipality's goals for children include curiosity, resilience, health, and happiness. Nuka Daycare Center is characterized by health, daily outdoor activities, healthy diet, exercise, and Kammagiitta, with a special focus on preschool children and monthly joint activities with children, staff, and parents. Applicants should be trained as an educator or similar, be diligent and attentive to tasks, able to collaborate with others, eager to innovate and experiment, and enjoy being present with children. Stability, good values, ability to handle multiple tasks on busy days, cheerfulness, active contribution to task improvement, and equitable collaboration with staff are important. Bilingualism in Greenlandic and Danish is advantageous but not required. We offer happy children, happy staff, good collaboration with parents, a pleasant and secure workplace, and stable staff. The position requires a criminal and child record check. Employment cannot commence until satisfactory checks are received by the municipality. The child record is obtained by the municipality with consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the applicant from the police. Salary and employment conditions are according to the current agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization, with a 3-month probation period.
