The Licensing Department is looking for one or more new colleagues to help manage and develop Greenland's raw material permits during a time of increasing international interest and activity.
You will become part of a small, professionally strong unit in Nuuk, where the pace is high, the tasks are varied, and where you will have independent responsibility from the start.
About us
The Department of Licensing is part of the Ministry of Business and Resources.
We manage approximately 140 raw material permits across all of Greenland – from small-scale activities to exploration and mining. At the same time, we continuously work on developing the frameworks for the area in line with new needs and political priorities.
We are a small team with diverse professional backgrounds, and we emphasize collaboration, flexibility, and an informal tone.
About the position

Your tasks vary widely: Case processing in connection with the issuance and administration of permits

Dialogue with companies and stakeholders
-
Coordination with other authorities
-
Coordinator of the companies' VSB reports and negotiations on IBA agreements (agreements on social sustainability and socioeconomic conditions)

Contribution to the development of rules, conditions, and practices

Participation in the department's information work and communication
You will receive your own portfolio of raw material permits and become a central contact person for both companies, advisors, and authorities – in Greenland and internationally.
You will be working in an area with many considerations at play – political, environmental, and business – where your ability to create an overview and find balanced solutions is central.
Who are you?

The working hours are 40 hours a week. The work pressure can vary, as the raw material sector is seasonal.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to travel for joining and leaving and relocation of personal belongings, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor may occur in accordance with the applicable agreement.
Housing
No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
