The Social Authority is seeking a director for the 24-hour service Sungiusarfik Ikinngut, with a start date of August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
Sungiusarfik Ikinngut is a 24-hour service for people with developmental disabilities aged 14 and older. The institution is designed for 20 places, which are divided into 2 departments and 1 sheltered employment offer, and the challenges vary widely.
The institution's overall objective is to create a safe environment for the residents. This places high demands on the educational effort, as there are many different needs that must be met on a daily basis. There is a focus on observation and training with the aim of achieving the greatest possible self-sufficiency for each individual citizen.

Preferably bilingual Greenlandic/Danish
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in effect at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
For an applicant with the right documentable competencies, employment as a special consultant, chief consultant, or senior advisor can take place in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.
Housing
An unfurnished staff accommodation can be assigned for the position according to the applicable rules at any given time. Housing cannot be assigned to individuals who already have a staff accommodation or another property owned by the municipality or the Government of Greenland. Rent and deposit are paid according to the applicable rules for the assigned accommodation. The staff accommodation is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership conditions, etc. There may be a waiting period for the allocation of permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodation may occur, including in smaller co-housing communities or hotel apartments, for which taxation applies. It is not possible to keep larger pets such as dogs or cats in staff or temporary housing.
Criminal record and child certificate
The Social Authority reserves the right to obtain criminal and child certificates. We therefore point out that the employment can only take effect once the Social Authority has received a satisfactory child certificate from the National Police as well as a criminal record from the Police.
The child certificate is obtained by the Social Authority with written consent from the individual, while the criminal record must be obtained by the individual themselves through the Police.
