The Department for Children, Youth, Families and Interior Affairs is seeking a Legal Advisor to work with legislation and legal advice within social law. The position involves close collaboration with political leaders and cross-functional projects. We are looking for a law graduate or equivalent with experience in legislation and politically led organizations.

In the Department for Children, Young People, Families, and Domestic Affairs, we work to realize political goals within social legislation, international conventions, strategies, and projects. Our tasks include legislation to strengthen the conditions for vulnerable children, young people, and families, as well as the preschool area.
As a lawyer in the Department, you will prepare and draft proposals for Inatsisartut laws and regulations in the area of responsibility, as well as prepare proposals for the Self-Government's adherence to conventions in the area of responsibility. You will also service the political level and respond to inquiries from politicians, citizens, municipalities, and other authorities regarding legal interpretation and legal questions in general.
The department is organized into two divisions: the Management Secretariat and the Department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring. Your job
You will be part of the Management Secretariat, which services and supports the department's management in relation to daily operations, communication, planning, and political priorities. You will help ensure that case processes and workdays run smoothly and efficiently.
The department consists of 8 employees with mixed professional backgrounds, and a department head to whom you will report. In addition, you will collaborate across the departments in the Naalakkersuisut, where many skilled lawyers and legal directors are employed. Here, you will have your own tasks and significant influence from the start. The work is diverse and requires collaboration across departments, professional boundaries, and cultures, as well as the ability to take independent responsibility for your own areas of work.

Salary and employment conditions
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

No housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to the assigned housing is retained. The housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon termination of the employment relationship.
