Disability and Social Psychiatry is looking for a skilled team leader for the Housing Unit Seernaq. If you have your heart in the right place and want to make a difference for our residents, you are exactly the colleague we are missing.

The position is a full-time job of 40 hours a week. Your working hours will primarily be on weekdays, although evening and weekend shifts may occur. You will work closely with your colleagues to support our residents in their development.

The housing unit Seernaq is one of our larger housing units in Nuuk. The housing unit accommodates 18 residents with mental and physical disabilities. The housing unit consists of 4 floors, where residents and staff are associated with the individual floors.

The residents have their own room and share the kitchen and living room with the other residents on the same floor. Your core task will be to help the residents develop their mental, social, and practical skills so that they can be as self-sufficient as possible. Together with your colleagues, you will support the residents in living a good and fulfilling life as they wish.

In addition to our 18 residents, the living unit consists of approximately 23 employees who are health professionals, educators, and unskilled workers.

The content of the position:

We are looking for a team leader to work with the residents, where the level of good and compassionate care, as well as the continued development of caregiving, is an absolute priority.

We are in a development process where we want to focus on competence development, job satisfaction, stability, and cohesion, as we believe this has a direct effect on the residents' well-being. Therefore, we want the work to take place in a close interdisciplinary, innovative, and developing environment for the benefit of the residents.

We expect that you, along with the manager and the deputy manager, will participate in the task of developing the staff so that an effect can be traced in the residents' well-being. It is expected that the team leader will become part of the on-call duty arrangement.

Our expectations of you are:

You are educated in the health or educational field, preferably with management experience, although this is not a requirement.

You have the desire and interest to work in the field of disabilities.

You have a flair and desire to participate in management work.

Bilingualism in Greenlandic and Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

You have well-developed interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

You will contribute to the development and documentation of the care.

You will participate in teaching, be a practical supervisor for students and trainees.

Independent, responsible, and service-oriented

Flexibility regarding tasks and ongoing adjustments in workload distribution.

Robust and shows initiative, surplus, and decisiveness.

Actively working to continuously develop and improve our task solving.

In this position, you will become part of a larger community: We are a department with eight housing units, five living collectives, two activity and social offerings, and three support teams located in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

Housing:

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
