The respite center is an offer for citizens with physical or mental disabilities. The location of the respite center is in Kammagiit Activity Center. The target group is citizens who temporarily need care in connection with relieving the relatives who provide a caregiving function. As a starting point, there will be 4 respite places, and the duration of the respite can be from 1 to 4 days, depending on the individual needs of the citizens.
At Kammagiit, you will be part of an engaged team with 5 employees at the respite center and 3 at the activity center. Your future colleagues have various backgrounds in the social and health sector as well as unskilled work, which creates a strong collaboration and a positive workplace.
The position is a full-time job of 40 hours a week with mixed day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Tasks:
Create a framework for a safe and pleasant place to be, where citizens are met with care and understanding.
Care, support, as well as maintenance and strengthening of already existing competencies
Conduct activities with the citizens at the Kammagiit Activity Center.
Execution of daily practical tasks

If you have experience in psychiatry, it is an advantage, but not a requirement.

The Disability and Social Psychiatry department for adults is a division where there are eight housing units, five group homes, two activity and social offerings, and three support teams distributed in Nuuk, Tasiilaq, and Paamiut. We are undergoing a significant development that includes a focus on thorough onboarding of new employees, ongoing support, and professional communities.

Criminal record:
This position is subject to the law requiring the collection of a criminal record. According to the law, employment can only begin once the municipality has received a criminal record. We would therefore like to point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received the criminal record from the police.
Salary and employment conditions:
Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Government of Greenland, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of appointment between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.
The employment will be subject to a 3-month probation period.

No staff housing can be provided for the position.
