Deputy Manager

Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is seeking a deputy manager to work with placed children in Tasiilaq. The position involves responsibility for educational direction, staff, and financial operations. We are looking for a qualified educator with leadership experience who can work in a multicultural environment and has the patience for professional and personal challenges.

Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is looking for a Deputy Manager. Are you passionate about working with foster children, and do you want to make a difference? Then you might be just the person we are looking for.

About Princess Margrethe's Children's Home:

Princess Margrethe's Children's Home is located in Tasiilaq on Greenland's east coast and is a residential institution operated by the Self-Government, the Social Authority. The Residential and Admissions Department is responsible for its operation.

Princess Margrethe's Children's Home consists of two children's and youth departments and a satellite Nasippi, as well as the associated day care facility Qaaligaaq.

The two departments are staffed with seven in the Small group and seven in the Large group, aged 0 to 14 years. They are primarily children from Tasiilaq and surrounding villages. The children may have social and emotional challenges, and they have a great need for care, structure, and stable adult contact.

Nasippi is a round-the-clock department for six adults with physical and mental disabilities who are partially self-sufficient. There is an attached sheltered workshop, Qaaligaaq, under the disability satellite, where residents have the opportunity to engage in protected and paid employment. In the workshop, social interaction is prioritized, and the users create handicrafts.

Princess Margrethe's children's home has a small house in a deserted village, boats, a mini hall, and snowmobiles. This provides the opportunity to create good activities with and for the children.

Tasiilaq is incredibly picturesque and invites many wonderful nature experiences, hunting, and fishing year-round. In the town, there is a hall with a fitness center, a new outdoor football field, a ski slope with a lift, a school with childcare services, a leisure club for older children, daycare facilities, and several grocery stores.
