An exciting position as UNESCO site manager in Qeqqata Municipality – Greenland's sustainable municipality – is available. The UNESCO site manager leads the process of preserving and communicating the world heritage in close collaboration with all stakeholders. The role involves project management, financial management, and supervision of park rangers and project staff.
A very exciting position as UNESCO site manager in Qeqqata Municipality – Greenland's sustainable municipality – is available.
The Inuit hunting cultural landscape Aasivissuit–Nipisat was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in the summer of 2018. The UNESCO site manager leads the process of preserving and communicating the World Heritage in close collaboration with all stakeholders.
Work and responsibilities

Communicate the World Heritage area to the local community and the outside world.

Implement the approved management plan for the World Heritage area.

Fundraising and implementation of grant-supported communication projects

Management of park ranger and project employee
-
Secretary for the steering committee
-
Supervise the cultural and natural values in areas

Stay ahead of the developments in the area.

Guide and inform users/visitors

Handle official visits in the World Heritage area

Consultation response to public authorities

Project management

Financial management

Various ad hoc tasks
Qualifications:
-
You have a relevant qualification education in the field.

You have experience in project management.

You have knowledge of Greenlandic cultural and natural conditions.

You are good at communicating, both orally and in writing.

You are multilingual, especially Greenlandic and English.
Salary and employment conditions: Salary and employment relationships, including the right to travel for joining and leaving as well as relocation of personal belongings, are in accordance with the collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organizations.
Housing can be assigned for which payment is made according to applicable rules.
