AC Officer or Special Consultant

The Department of Economics, Personnel & Study Administration is looking for a new colleague who will help develop and strengthen results in the education sector. We need a welcoming team player with a flair for working in a politically governed organization, who should preferably have expertise in one or more of the competency areas related to data processing, analytical work, and cross-cutting projects.

The development of the education sector is a high priority to create the best educational opportunities for everyone and to ensure a qualified workforce for the business community. Funding for culture is considered essential to ensure the ongoing development of society's assets. Grants for sports are sought to be allocated to athletes, as sports are seen as a way to combat lifestyle diseases, among other things. Additionally, the church is an integral part of the structure of society.

In the finance department, we have a collaborative culture that allows everyone to contribute new ideas to the organization and the solutions to tasks. If you are structured, team-oriented, and have a basic understanding of finance, you might be our new colleague in the finance department.

Your personal qualifications:

We are looking for a colleague who is professionally engaged and has the ability and desire to participate in collaborative teams that prioritize development. We are looking for you who takes pride in delivering solid professional craftsmanship and approaches your tasks in a structured manner. Tasks that range widely from administration and operations to development and political servicing.

We would like to see that:

• You have a relevant academic master's degree, e.g. Cand.Polit., Cand.Scient.Adm., Cand.Oecon. or Cand.Merc.
• You have experience from a similar position or from a position within the public sector.
• You have strong financial acumen to be able to prepare financial analyses.
• You have experience working quantitatively, particularly with statistics and database processing.
• You possess the ability to systematize work processes.
• You can absorb large amounts of information in a short time and convey it to a wide audience.
• You have a good understanding of Greenlandic society and the public system in Greenland.
• You have good language skills, preferably Greenlandic and English.
• You have the ability to maintain an overview in a complex process and can process information into understandable and precise political decision-making proposals.
• You have knowledge of financial management and are an advanced user of Excel.

• Development and operation in the data area for the entire department's area of responsibility.
• To contribute with analyses and reports, for example in relation to the political work on the incentive structure for the youth target group.
• To manage development projects with and without a data focus.
• Participation in cross-cutting development projects and other international initiatives in the education sector.
• Prepare notes and other responses for political level, speeches, the press, etc.
• Prepare case presentations, policies, strategies, and guidelines for use in the organization.
• Engage in a collaborative community with your closest colleagues.
• Response to §37 questions and other external actors in the field.
• Participation in working groups, whether they are the department's internal working groups or working groups across other departments and authorities.
• Political service of the Minister, as well as the entire Government regarding educational policy issues.
• Controlling and financial analysis in the entire education, culture, sports, and church sector.
• Contribute to the development and optimization of work processes.
• Communication of departmental instructions and guidelines to subordinate operational units.
• Ad-hoc economic, statistical, and accounting tasks.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, in accordance with the agreement/collective agreement in force at the time of commencement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant negotiating organization.

For the right qualified candidate with several years of experience, employment, after a specific assessment, may be on special consultant terms. If one is already a special consultant with several years of experience, one may, after a specific assessment, be employed on chief consultant terms.

Housing

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to assigned staff housing is retained. The staff housing is linked to the employment relationship and must be vacated upon the termination of the employment relationship.
