AC Executive Officer

The Department for Children, Youth, Justice, and Equality is seeking an AC Executive Officer to improve conditions for children and youth. The position involves developing and managing projects, strategies, and analyses, as well as servicing the political level. You will work in the Department for Cross-Departmental Projects and Monitoring with a focus on cross-cutting collaboration and political initiatives.

The Department for Children, Youth, Justice, and Gender Equality is seeking an AC advisor.

Are you passionate about improving conditions for children and young people, and do you want to work closely with the political decision-making process? Then we have an exciting position for you.

In the Department of Children, Youth, Justice, and Equality, we work to achieve political goals within the social sector in Greenland. Our tasks are diverse, and as an AC officer, you will, among other things, develop and lead projects, strategies, initiatives, and analyses, as well as handle cross-cutting tasks within the department's area of responsibility. You will also serve the political level by preparing proposals for the Naalakkersuisut, notes regarding issues, and responses to §37 questions.

The department is organized into two divisions: the Management Secretariat and the Department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring. In the department, we value a work culture where everyone has the opportunity to contribute to the development and innovation of the organization. Therefore, it is an advantage if you are a collaborative and ambitious person who approaches your colleagues with openness and interest. In return, you will be surrounded by dedicated and ambitious colleagues who support and respect each other.

Your job

You will be part of the Department for Cross-Sectional Projects and Monitoring, which consists of six employees with diverse expertise. The department works across the entire ministry's area of responsibility and plays a central role in ensuring that political decisions are translated into concrete actions and results. We often collaborate across departments in the Naalakkersuisut and have projects in cooperation with the country's municipalities. Here, you will have your own tasks and significant influence from the start. The work is varied and requires collaboration across departments, professional boundaries, and cultures, as well as the ability to take independent responsibility for your own areas of work.

We offer

  • An exciting and meaningful job close to the political decision-making process.
  • Opportunity to work on complex and socially important projects that make a difference for children, young people, and families in Greenland.
  • A dynamic work environment with engaged and ambitious colleagues who support and respect each other.
  • Good opportunities for professional and personal development through varied tasks and responsibilities.
  • Flexible working conditions with a focus on the balance between work and private life
  • A workplace with good colleagues and a focus on well-being and an informal tone.
  • Develop and lead cross-cutting projects, strategies, and initiatives within the department's area of responsibility.
  • Prepare analyses and evaluations that support political decisions and priorities.
  • Serve the political level through presentations to the Naalakkersuisut, notes, and responses to §37 questions.
  • Coordinate and follow up on ongoing projects and ensure progress in relation to political goals.
  • Contribute to monitoring and reporting, so the department has a solid basis for decision-making.
  • Collaboration closely with colleagues and external actors to create coherence and quality in the efforts. About you
  • Has a relevant academic degree at the master's level.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of the social field is desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Experience with project and process work, preferably also experience with project management.
  • Can work independently, in a structured manner, and development-oriented.
  • Has a good understanding of statistics and data
  • Is skilled at communicating in writing and speaking.
  • Can create an overview of many complex pieces of information.
  • Is good at collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Greenlandic social conditions and culture is the advantage.
  • Preferably bilingual, but it's not a requirement.
